Dr. Edward D.W. Bloomfield - Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Analyst
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and trained as an Analyst at the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP). I have 20 years’ experience working as a senior clinician in the NHS and in private practice."
My way of working as a therapist is to provide a safe space, where people can explore and better understand the way they think and how they feel. This often involves thinking about how a person understands themselves, their relationships with the key people in their lives and how they react to the world around them.
Together we work towards an understanding that is unique to the person in front of me. I then draw on a range of theories and therapeutic models in order to tailor an intervention to the individual, helping them work towards their goals for personal change.
My qualifications are:
BSc in Psychology (Royal Holloway - University of London)
M.A. in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies (Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies)
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (University of Southampton)
Diploma - Practitioner in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (St. Thomas' Hospital - ACAT)
I belong to the following Associations:
Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) - Membership number: 036420.
Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) - Registration number: PYL02687.
British Psychoanalytic Council - Jungian Analyst - Registration number: 21899
